I really enjoy coming to the Club. There is a great supportive and
friendly network of people who are all interested in self-development.

I really enjoy the table topic section - its a challenge, but really
gets the mind into overdrive having to think on your feet and present at
the same time
Advice to a new member - jump in with both feet, you can only improve
your public speaker and leadership skills by getting involved and
actually doing it.
Come along as a guest. You can come along three times to enable
you
to make up your mind before you commit to membership. You'll know
right away if its for you. I got a real buzz from the first night
and I've continued to get that ever since. It's exhilarating!

For
me, the benefit of being a member of a speakers club is the opportunity to
regularly practise speaking. When evaluating other peoples speeches,
it makes me focus on really listening and gives me great satisfaction when
I give suggestions for improvement. People can then take on board
these suggestions and improve.
I think the 'Toastmaster' methodology is the fastest and cheapest way to
improve your communication skills. The set programme allows you to
continuously improve both your leadership and commutation skills.
Even though I have been a member for over 8 years, there are always
opportunities for further improvement.
