BECOMING A MEMBER OF LINLITHGOW SPEAKERS
After attending two or three of our club meetings, you will be able to decide if Linlithgow Speakers is for you. You will be asked to fill out a simple form and pay the joining and membership fee. Please find details below under "Membership Fees".
Once your membership has been processed, you will receive your membership pack. This includes 2 Toastmaster manuals - the Competent Communicator manual, and the Competent Leadership manual. These give you everything you need to begin making your own powerful speeches. You will also receive a monthly Toastmaster magazine which is packed full of great features as well as great speaking tips.
Competent Communicator Manual
The Competent Communicator manual has 10 speech projects, each with it's own speech objectives. Once you have successfully completed all 10 speeches, you are eligible for the Competent Communicator Award.
Competent Leadership Manual
Each time you take on a role at one of the meetings, the appropriate section of the manual will be completed . This allows you to work towards achieving the Competent Leadership Award. As you progress through the manual, you are further developing and increasing your leadership skills. MEMBERSHIP SUBSCRIPTIONS
The manuals cost £15, but these will be the only 2 manuals you will need to purchase.
Fees for Linlithgow Speakers are due twice a year in March and September. The subscription fee is £42 for 6 months.
All new members will pay for the manuals on joining, along with the subscription fee. This is pro-rata if you do not join in either March or September.
As an example, if you decide to join at the end of January 2010, you will pay the subscription fee for February and March.
